Tips for new moms

If you are a new mom, this is the happiest time in your life! You are excited, but, if this is your first child, you don’t know what to do! The first and basic advice is not to be afraid! Your mother instinct is in you, and it always was there! So, you need to relax and enjoy during your time with your baby.

Every new mother must be persistent! You must try and try again, many times! Don’t be afraid of trying something new. If you don’t try, how you are going to know what your baby likes! Try to hold her in your arms, if your baby isn’t happy, put it on your shoulder, eventually you will ‘’discover’’ what your baby really wants. In a first couple of weeks, don’t apply ‘’2 hour rule’’. Listen to your baby, and feed her as soon she wants that. Many babies want to eat more often than on every 2 hours!

Every new mother will want to go home, with her baby as soon as possible from the hospital. Although this is a common desire you must be careful. As you know, many people and other children will come to see your baby. Limit the visitation of big crowds and lots of other children. The most important thing is to apply this rule during a flu season. Because you are a new mother, you will get more advices, from almost anybody! Don’t listen to them all. If some mother puts her baby to sleep on stomach, doesn’t mean you should too! It is important to bond with your baby, so every day find some time just for you two.
