Freeze Tag

Main concern for any parent today is lack of physical activity in children. They do not want to venture out as there are more interesting devices like video games, play stations, televisions etc holding them back at home. It is the need of the day to pull them out of the home and make them play in open air and sunshine, which is equally important for balanced growth of children. Freeze Tag is one game which can involves more children and make an interesting activity for kids of all ages from 4 years to 14 years. One child is made the ‘it’ who chases other children. If he touches any one child then he freezes there and cannot move, until and unless another child comes and touches him or de freezes him. Finally ‘it’ wins the game when all children are freezed.

To bring in a variation in the game, the child who is touched by ‘it’ joins hand with him and starts chasing other children, thereby forming a long chain. Last child left, becomes the next ‘it’. This way the children get to run around as well as enjoy themselves while doing it. Obesity in children is a burning issue today. Outdoor games are one of the best ways to overcome this problem, as there is no child who will say no to play. Along with keeping a child fit, outdoor games help children in learning a lot of things and discipline at the same time. A feeling of brotherhood develops among children too.
